Default SFXs for WW2 based movie

Hi All

Im doing a movie that take place during WW2.
No war scenes mostly interiors in embassies, large buildings and exteriors with cars passing in the street.

Also have a hard time finding good distant recordings of typewriters doors, steps. and random activities etc, not a fan of putting reverb on rather have it recorded distant.

Im going to do my own recordings but would be great to have some new stuff!

All the best
B

I think you might have a hard time finding distant sfx's from the libraries. Definitely check some Boom libraries and also asoundeffect.com.
Another thing that might help is Accentize's Chameleon 2 reverb. Demo it and sample the ambiance from your dialogue tracks and other recordings from the set and experiment with EQ and wet/dry balance in Chameleon and library SFX's. Indoor scene's will be easier to "fake" then outdoors.

Audioease Indoor only works in Rosetta mode I believe. I would recommend trying to build some of the sounds with your own recording using your ears. I have found that to work just great for things like that. It's all about imagination and it's fun!

Indoor is good for that sort of thing, or if you're really keen you could 'worldise' it. You can't beat that for realism.
