Default Clips' names to tracks

Normally putting a clip on a new track should automatically rename the tracks with the clip's name. But it doesn't work here. Don't know why...
Any idea?
Or is there a way to rename all the "Audio" tracks with clips' names put on themselves

in my 25+ year experience using PT that is not at all normal. if a track already exits, and thus has a name, simply placing a clip on it will not change the name of the track.
if you drag a clip (or multiple clips) into a blank session (no tracks) then new tracks should be created that inherit the clip names (one track per clip).

what if there are multiple clips on the track? what then would you expect the track name to be?

If you drag a file or clip onto the empty area of the Edit window, it will make a new track with that name. I think that behavior goes back to about version 9 or 10, don't remember exactly when they added it. You can drag files with many differing names onto an existing track, which is why it would be absurd and deeply frustrating if it renamed the track every time.

I see guys. I'm quite new to PT. And there isn't a way to transfer all clips in the edit window to the concerning tracks?

There could be in some situations. If the Clips bin or OS folder (The Finder on Mac) contains all the clips you need in sequence, with none that you don't need intervening, you could Shift-select them all and drag them onto a blank space in the Edit window. That would create a new track for each clip/file.

If the tracks are already there, as long as the clips or files are in the same order in the bin or OS folder, you could drag them onto the tracks all at once.

I can't understand this phrase. If I drag the clips into existing tracks they don't change their names

Point blank. There is no way to change a track name simply by dragging, copying, spotting, or otherwise, onto an already existing track.

There is no feature in Pro Tools to convert clip name to track name other than copy clip name, paste onto track name.

As stated. When you drag a clip from the desktop, clip list, or Mac finder window onto the blank gray area of the Pro Tools edit window, a new track will be created with the clip name.

Also, if you import audio using the File->Import menu, you can choose to create new tracks with imported audio, which will then be named according to the file names being imported.
