there was a similar issue a few months back with only the fade outs having problems .. maybe this is related and Avid can cross reference back to that ..

thx for checking the other way round !!!

Working fine in Win7 with or without layered clips being selected. It preserves the fade of the clip you are moving and alters the fade length of the clip you place it over. So, if you move a clip with a fade partly over another clip with a fade. the moved clips' fade stays the same and the fade on the destination clip shortens. Same behaviour if the destination clip does not have a fade in.

Update! From Avid -

Thanks for making contact with Avid Customer Care.
We are sorry for your inconvenience.

I could reproduce the symptom with PT 2018.1.
I also confirmed that the symptom does not occur with PT 12.8.3.

The issue seems to occur if the second clip is not moved.
If it is moved to another place and move back to the original position, (Command + Z does NOT work, unfortunately.)
the fades can be adjusted as it was with previous version of PT.

Workaround.
1.select the latter part of the clip.
2.move the clip to somewhere in the later timeline.
3.select the end of the first clip, by "TAB" key.
4.hold OPTION and click on the latter part of the clip.(the clip goes back to its original position).
5.extend the boundaries of the latter part of the clip.
Now the fade out of the 1st clip is adjusted as designed.

I will report this issue to our development team and ask for the fix in the future update

Not seeing this on totally clean 10.12.6 & 2018.1.
Goes for both HD (without HD hardware) and non-HD (both using Pro Tools Aggregate I/O for this test).
