5.1 track order

trying to open new session using ITU track order - but the track in the edit window shows Film track order

Have you checked your I/O setup window? And if you have the tracks in wrong order you can always create mono tracks and move the 5.1 into those, then move them into proper order and move back.

Thanks ! I just have to do a dolby-E encode in ITU track order. I normally work in Film order. In session I/O it definitely says track order is ITU but visually it still looks like Film order and even if I pull in an interleaved or multimono mix the order still appears L C R Ls Rs LFE. ( protools 10)

What you see is the FILM order, that Pro Tools uses internally.
If you Record To Disk using a bus that is setup in ITU order, your recording should be fine (ITU).
And you can always use this: http://www.sounddevices.com/products/waveagent/ if you need to verify the order - or change it.
