Does anyone else out there use a HUI and Turbo Mouse?
I recently realized that after upgrading to PT 5.0, my Mackie HUI won't communicate with PT as long as the Kensington "Mouseworks" extension is loaded. I swear I've been working this way for years without problems. Is it the new DAE? I need my TurboMouse! It helps me be a "two handed editor" by using the assignable buttons to perform common tasks while editing.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Are there any other trackballs out there that I could try that have assignable buttons, and don't conflict with Pro Tools? Please help, Jim

Also, I failed to mention that the HUI is connected to my B/W G3 400 via a Midisport 2x2 USB interface. I'm currently using OS 8.6, and the very latest Kensington software.
Thanks again!

Re: Does anyone else out there use a HUI and Turbo Mouse?
I think I've found a workaround for my own problem for now. Digi says that they don't recommend the mouseworks extension because there were reported conflicts. I, however cannot live without my turbomouse! So, by placing a lowercase letter z in front of both the Mouseworks startup extension, and the Kensington ADB, or USB (whichever model you have) extension, you force the Mac to load these extensions last upon boot.
The conflict only seemed to occur because (with OS 8.6, and DAE 5.0) the Kensington extensions by default load immediately after yes... yes... the DAE extension! Go figure. I've been rockin' and rollin' for 3 days since I made this simple change. Good luck to anyone else experiencing this problem. Jim
