Default how many mix farm cards = a hd 1?

An HD core or process card has about twice the DSP power of a mix core or farm card. An HD accel card has abour 4 times as much. The exact amount depends on the specific plugins being used. Note that there is no such thing as an HD accel core - all HD systems have non-accel core cards.

Does this stand to reason that a Mix+ (core card and mix farm card) has about the same power as a HD 1 rig?

Yes, a Mix+ is approximately equivalent to an HD1 in terms of DSP power at 48K and lower sampling rates. The HD1 can run higher rates, of course, where the Mix systems can't, but an HD1 running at 96K would have about the same plugin power as a Mix core at 48K.

Hi,

to make it more complicated you have to keep in mind, that an HD card has nine chips (six chips in Mixsystem).
So if you use a lot of different plugs the HD System might be not really be as powerfull.
I personally have a HD 3 System and I work a 44.1KHz. I never seem to have all power used with this configuration.
So I am really satisfied. But if I would want to go to 96KHz, there might be not enough DSP.....
