Pro Tools 12 Won't Start

Hello,

Pro Tools has been running reasonably smooth on my system for about three years now. However, recently, my old Tascam US-600 broke. No big deal, just went out and purchased a Scarlett 2i4 (better pres, better sample rate). After installing the Scarlett driver(s), (and uninstalling the Tascam drivers) Pro Tools still proceeded to work for about three days (even better than it had before, I might add; with the Tascam, I had some transport issues but those went away with the Scarlett). One day, however, I went to click the icon to start Pro Tools, and windows simply made the 'critical error' noise. No error message, no explanation. Pro tools will not start (note: task manager has Pro Tools running, but the program isn't actually running). It's literally as simple as that. -_-

I've tried trashing my preferences, uninstalling/reinstalling Pro Tools (When I first tried uninstalling it, windows gave me an error: "error 1316. the specified account already exists" so I downloaded CCleaner and cleaned my registry. That seemed to fix that problem.), I even did a system restore and uninstalled all recent windows updates.
Tl;dr: I'm at my wit's end.

Version: Running Pro Tools 12 (Just standard version)
Interface: Scarlett 2i4 (2 Mono-Stereo audio (XLR & Instrument) inputs; 1 MIDI thru; 24 bit sample width; 96Khz sample rate)
