Midi troubles using BFD in PT
Hey All!
I reciently purchased BFD and I really LOVE the drum sounds. I'm also trying to use it in midi using my keyboard controller. I've set it up in a Pro Tools session just like any other RTAS plug and nothing I'm really stumped (stupid) on this one...Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Midi troubles using BFD in PT
You might want to be a bit more specific in what you are doing.
Load BFD on an Aux track. If you are just experimenting, select the "Stereo" version first. Next create a midi track, and select the output to BFD channel whatever, I use channel 1. Click the record button on the midi track, and then bang on note C1 on your midi controller. If you get a kick sound you are good to go. I've found that changing the preferences in BFD to 16 bit instead of 24 bit made a big difference for me. It reduced a lot of errors and cymbal drop outs. |

Re: Midi troubles using BFD in PT
Hi J,
Yeah, I tried that. I even changed BFD to 16bit mode as well. I did however, notice that when I moved BFD to another drive, I didn't move the data files. I'm gonna boot it up now and try it. Hopefully that was it! Man, I feel so stupid with this thing I can usually run a rtas instrument with no problems Anyway, I'll post back soon. Thank you so much for your suggestions. BC |

Re: Midi troubles using BFD in PT
Hi,
if you click on the BFD Interface left of the Kit piece name, do you hear the drum sound? If not click on the keyboard picture on the right of the BFD GUI and load the default kit setup and try again. if you don't hear it played from the interface you won't hear it from MIDI either. Try also running a MIDI loop from within BFD to hear the sounds are working. all the best, Big D

Update:
Ok, I finally got the midi to work. Now, I need to move the data files back to drive #2. Are there any additional folders other than "Data" that I need to move over? Thanks! BC |
