Re: M1, Pro Tools Compatibility
Monterey is a crap shoot in terms of compatibility. Every time a new OS version is released some in the PT camp claim the OS is at fault. Yet most other apps work well. The issue here is, and always has been, the way they've engineered Pro Tools to work over the years. If one follows the guidelines and standards Apple provides one will get an app that functions well on the new OS releases. Due to some legacy code Pro Tools is not able to follow those as recommended. It's the nature of the beast coming from a time where to get the performance complexity had to be added that wasn't quite in line with practices Apple was promoting.
On production machines always best to wait.

Re: M1, Pro Tools Compatibility
Usually true, but in this case it is not PT/macOS compatibility problem but solely macOS problem in itself. Even the built-in apps of macOS have memory leaks, so I would not complain about instability of unsupported PT software.
