Default PART TWO: DID I Give Eleven A Fair Shake?

OK guys thanks for all who contributed to the original thread a week or so back.

I ordered a new ELEVEN Rack today, should get Tuesday.

Should I go somewhere and download the latest drivers so I'm ready for it or does PT 9.02 already install those?

Looking forward to spending more time with it this time, and getting the new Expansion. If I can't make it work it will go up here for sale, but I really need it to work. I can't deal with this latency of plug ins, etc, changing buffers, blah blah. I want to set up a bank of "go to" patches because I have to work on deadlines....insane ones...and I need to be ready to go.

Thanks for all the input!

Tom

<fingers crossed for your success>

For me, it's like playing the real thing.

The only differences:

1) I get to pick the sound and the volume. None of the tyranny of the amp's sweet spot dictating insane playing volumes.

2) Working is a lot faster than shuffling amps and mics and pedalboards and cables and stands and ... (You know the drill.) I'll add that the learning curve is next to nonexistent. It took me about ten minutes to learn all the navigation techniques. The controls behave just like they do on the modeled gear.

3) I have the sounds that I love, plus choices that I couldn't possibly afford if I had to buy all the modeled gear. And let's not forget the space savings!

no prob, if you run into trouble with your new 11R be sure to ask questions here before you give up and sell it. The 11R will work for you, just get familiar with it, and you can crank out all kinds of sounds.

Be sure to go ahead and purchase the ERXP as soon as you confirm the 11R works properly.

Also be sure to check out http://www.elevenrackpresets.com!

The presets out of the box may not sound that good but the presets on that site are pure gold (maybe not all of them but a lot). They will surely give you a good starting point for your own guitar and/or style of music you want to play

Also a little tip: If you don't like the preset but like the delay or reverb sound or something like that: save the fx sound. That way you build up a catalogue of cool and nice sounding effects for when you do find that killer amp sound.

Wow great idea, I didn't even know you could save the FX setup separately, very cool...

Hey guys would also appreciate any tips on patch organization...

I'd like to be able to organize this for quick recall...like...a bank of clean, a bank of semi dirty, a heavy bank, and a wacko special FX bank. Is that easy to do?

I'm kind of an organization nut...will only use ELEVEN RACK in PT btw...thanks

Tom

I usually organize mine in banks of five becuase I use the Digitech GSP for Midi control but it still applies. By first bank is just my current favorites. My banks are either artist or types of music (metal, classic Rock, etc) and the presets are filled with my variations of the basic sound and one or 2 clean patches. So I may have a back that will do Ozzy - Rhoads, Ozzy - Zach, Motley Crue and then an 80's clean. For me this take up about half the presets I get most everything I need. The rest of the patches are for EVH.....jk. I do have 2 banks for EVH given the recent examples, the rest or used to test new patches.
