Default Tutorials on altering volume over time? Keyframes?

Hi...

I have only just started getting into the use of midi controlled instruments on protools le; I am coming from using video software which makes extensive use of keyframes.

I wondered if there was any equivalent here...

What I am looking for is quite simple, but I am not sure how to do it - I have an instrument track, in which i play a part with my midi controller. I would like to alter the volume over time... ie this a bit louder, this a bit softer... but all I can see is the volume control for the whole track at once.

Is there a way of making more precise adjustments over time.. perhaps there is a nice tutorial on this stuff somewhere that someone might point me to?

Thanks again for all your very kind help over the past couple of days, as I get to grips with this stuff.

Also, there are any number of videos out there for sale that go into automation in general..

Try looking for protools automation videos on Youtube. You're bound to find something there.

Peace!

Gotcha. Thanks very much!

Now I see there is that little menu where you choose what you see, and you play with the audio volume line (or midi volume) just like you would keyframe.

Moving from video to audio software is simple enough, it seems, but there is a whole new language to learn!
