WAVS displaying incorrectly in Edit screen...please help!
Hi,
I've recently upgraded to the latest 7.4 version of PT LE for my 003R. I was using 6.x previously with the 003R and it worked fine. Here's the problem... The WAVS in the edit screen are not displaying correctly. They do not reflect the actual sounds that are being recorded. They seem to start later (towards the right) in time and also look chopped up in weird ways. They SOUND fine. They are being recorded FINE. They just don't display correctly... I've never realized how much I use my eyes for editing! I have tried re-installing PT and the same thing happens. Please help! In the Region bin menu there is a selection that says "recaculate waveform". Hit that and your files should be fixed. I've noticed that I have to use it more often after upgrading to 7.4.

Thanks for the tip!
I gotta do that for every take/every song? What kind of crap is that?! Do other people have this problem with 7.4? I'm not at my DAW now but I will try when I get home. Thanks again... |

I seem to remember reading somewhere that this problem seems to occur more when using small buffers and/or low latency monitoring. And I personally have seen this occur much more frequently in 7.4 than in earlier versions. I don't think I ever had this problem in the 6.x's or the first couple of 7's, now it's pretty regular. Good thing that the fix is relatively simple. (obviously it's a glitch that they're aware of or there wouldn't be a "recaculate waveform" on there!!)

this has been an ongoing problem for many years that has never seemed to be really taken seriously. the only time i have had it is when tracking at 64 hw buffer setting. not all the time, but when it starts it does it on every track and every take. pretty annoying. but recalculate waveform overviews is the only fix. do some searches. there are threads going on about this for a long time.

I do nothing but track at 64!!
To me it's a slight annoyance but it is annoying, I've already gotten in the habit of hitting recalculate on any tracks I'm planning to edit just so I don't run into it. |

yea i do to. but jump to 128 sometime and check it out, i never have had this prob. when tracking at 64 having the prob, switch to 128, and seems to typically work fine all of a sudden?? wish i could recall a lot of the tests and info done a while back, but have slept since then at least twice
