Default Waves WLC Update Bricks Pro Tools...

Waves claims their WLC needs an update by April 14 or it stops working. Did the update and it bricked Pro Tools. When I tried to start PT I got an error about a missing...I stopped caring about then. Brought back an image, tried the WLC update again. Same error. Obviously the WLC update is needed so, uninstall and reinstall 12.5 and back to working <sigh>

Just a warning to those who use Waves.

Are you saying that the new WLC works, but only after uninstalling and reinstalling PT 12.5? Or did you roll back to some earlier version?

Just re-read their email-

"Your old version of Waves Central (v1.0.3.3) will no longer work after April 14, 2016"

I did the update on a Mac and works fine w PT 12.5. Will try my Win version tomorrow. Strange update notice, however!

It seems there is some hatch found and they want to close it immediately.

I just did this update on a Win 10, PTHD12.5 system and now get an error message during PT startup saying:

"Fatal Error - Pro Tools 12

Pro Tools 12 could not be loaded. Please contact the software publisher for support using this software.

Error details;

Import DLL mfc120u.dll cannot be loaded."

I have uninstalled and reinstall both PTHD 12.5 and Waves Central and PT will not start up and continues to throw this error.

Anyone found a fix for this yet?

Thanks,
Greg

All of my plugins are installed and activated already, so I held off installing the Waves update.

So, it looks like the Waves update is fine on Mac but not on Win 10?
