Massey L2007 Issues

I am still in PT 7.3.1cs5 but I have had this issue for a while. on 96K/24 bit sessions, If i try to open one of these sessions created a while back, the sound does not come out of the tracks with L2007 (TDM) on them. If I convert to RTAS the track plays fine and if I remove that plug in it plays fine. THis also occurs in new 96K/24 bit sessions if L2007 (TDM) is added to the session.

In a related MAssey issue, the Echo plugin emits lots of hiss and is only multi mono...IS this normal?

Not sure about the L2007 limiter, but the echo plugin noise is a feature. That's tape hiss. You need to take the mode off of the vintage setting. Also make sure you have the newest version of both. I know the TD5 had a number of revisions early on. Also the TD5 is only mono. For stereo tracks you need to use multi-mono. For the record I'm on 7.3.1cs4. Don't know if there are any changes in cs5 that would cause them to act differently.

Every once in a while, I find after re-opening a session (or is it when copying an L2007 by option-dragging?) that the output is set very low incorrectly. Actually, I think it's when I've imported a track from another session that has the L2007 loaded on it. So I have seen something buggy with it. I'd go in and check the output setting.

The Massey delay plug indeed has that noise built in on some settings. You can control it by increasing your input and dropping the output, or I guess by staying away from those retro settings...

I've had the same issue with the L2007 and the Tape Head. When I de-instantiated and then re-instantiated the Tape Head plug, the problem went away.

No such luck with the L2007. He's probably aware of this issue. He's also very nice and quick to respond to emails. I'd just email him.
