Control 24, one fighting fader.. shall I replace it?
Hello,
So I have bought a used but in great condition Control 24, I plan to use along with V-Control Pro. One issue is that, i have channel 12 fader not responding to my touch. So, TEST mode, there is no T at all. At first, channel 6 fader was similar but I made it work by just cleaning with tissues. Channel 12 fader, very firm and just does not recognize at all. Cap off, no 'T' sign at all. Other faders are all good and T test all passed. um, could this be 'circuit' issue? Shall I replace this one fader.. would there be any other troubleshooting check-up methods..? I did 'reset' twice. Cycled for 10 minutes.. channel 12 fader still acting all ok 'except' it cannot recognize touch <--- I cannot bypass touch fader mode right? What would be my best bet..? Thanks. |

Re: Control 24, one fighting fader.. shall I replace it?
Since nobody else has posted, I'll give you some thoughts:
I'm guessing the T in test mode is touch? Does anything change with the fader cap removed(so you're touching the metal part of the fader that comes up thru the slot)? The fader caps(touch feature) works by the capacitance in your skin, so if it passes with the cap removed, then I would suspect either some gunk causing a poor connection between the cap and the fader. Swapping a good fader with a bad one(so you can see if the problem moves too) is one way to determine if a fader is bad(and consider that they could be 20+ years old). Of course, if the problem doesn't move with the fader swap, then I would suspect a circuit issue

Quote:
Have you tried switching faders around to see if it’s a board issue or the fader? Try cleaning gently with some Kaig deoxit and see if that fixes if not then a new fader is needed Chris

Vaccuum cleaner. Or take out fader and dissasemble it to clean out dust and clean contact.
You can even order the faders on ali express.
