Default PT8 -9129 error - No problems in 7.4 - 003R

I upgraded to PT8 and now I get the dreaded -9129 errors. My system worked fine with PT7.4. I've tried all of the Windows optimizations and buffer/processor combinations with no luck. The system usage show only 35% CPU usage and 5-7% disk use.

Is anyone else having this same issue with a 003R after upgrading? Is there any changes with firewire in PT8? Are there any plug-in compatibility issues?

Quad Core, 3GB Ram, 003R, PT8 (MPTK2), Windows XP SP3(I'll post the entire configuration when I get back to the studio).

Default Fixed - Sans Amp causing - PT8 -9129 error - 003R

I've figured the problem out. It's a problem with SansAmp PSA-1. I had three in this session and when I made them inactive the problem went away. When I reactivated just one of them and the same error occured. This appears to be the new version of SansAmp.

Digi - Any known bugs on this?

One more thing. It seems that the error is caused by denormalization. If I add 16 bit dither before the sans amp, no problems. Seems like its the same problem as the Occasional, unknown cpu spikes thread.

That is the Sans amp that came with 7.4. 7.3 version worked right, 7.4 was broken (don't know if it has been corrected in the 7.4 downloads), and for PT8 it has been fixed and has a new UI.

I didn't have the problem in 7.4. The Sans Amp plug has the new GUI so I assume it's the latest.

That's certainly interesting. I had no problem until 7.4!

I personally haven't used Sans Amp in PT8, but a few days back there was a message from Digi Support saying that the PT8 release of it with the new UI was fixed of that problem. Perhaps there are now certain conditions where the problem surfaces?

There must still be a problem. I didn't have this problem before PT8.

Digi - Can you address this?

Not able to reproduce this problem in PT8. I, too, am running a Core 2 Quad system, but am running Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0 with a Profire 2626. I recently reinstalled Windows about a week ago so this is a pretty fresh install of Pro Tools.

Try trashing DAE Prefs? Might need to do a full uninstall and reinstall of PT8 (if you chose one of the basic uninstall options for PT 7.4).

Are there any other steps or plug-ins in the session? I just opened a session with a minute long stereo audio file and threw on 3 Sansamps and it played just fine.

Lots of other plug ins in the session. It's a full mix session so there's lots going on. There may not be a problem with a session that was created from scratch in PT8. My session is an older session previous to PT 7.4. I haven't gotten very far with new PT8 sessions yet but should be in the next few weeks.

I should point out that I have the same problem with the session on a Dual Core PT's machine running PT8 so I don't think it's a processor specific problem or at least not specific to one processor.

Alex - if you put a dither plug-in in the slot above Sansamp, does the problem go away?
