Default Venue and Virtualbox not seeing thumb drive.

I am running a new MacBook Pro and have VirtualBox on the computer to run the stand alone Venue software v3. Windows will recognize the thumb drive in virtualbox but when I use the Venue software I can not get it to see the thumb drive to allow me to transfere my shows so that I can do off line editing of them and then transfere them back to the console. Can anyone help me to know what I should try? Thank you.
