Default Alternative to GigaStudio?

So I just picked up the Mbox2 with PTLE and already I hit 14 tracks and Im only about a 1/3rd of the way through this new song. The bulk of it so far is Miroslav Philharmonik, but i see this to be a recurring theme. So i want to nip it in the bug. Is there some program i can used to do my midi recording in? And keep PTLE strictly for Audio recording and final mixdowns of both audio and mixdown midi files? Thanks

AFAIK PTLE MIDI/INST trax limit is 128 (i think). it is not limited to the same number as audio...32 or 48 dependin' on which version of PTLE and of course if you have MPT or CPT the count is higher

I think mykhal is right.
Anyway, if you want to add some audio, midi, whatever tracks, you could combine Reaper (www.reaper.fm) with PT LE via Rewire.

Is the OP running out of tracks or running out of processing power?

Cheers,
