Pro Tools freezes DAE error 6001
Hi guys
I have bought Pro Tools M powered 8 in 2010 and M audio fast track ultra also in 2010, Pro Tools keeps freezing every half hour and it appears to lose connection with the hardware. If I exit and restart Pro Tools it works fine for about 20 minutes and the same thing happens again. I checked the M audio update for faulty fast track ultras but they say that serial nos with 6th digit as 9 should not be having this fault. Mine has serial no as 9 for 6th digit. Maybe they got that wrong? Anyway, the problem is that every 20 mins my M audio fast track ultra automatically changes default sample size from 256 to 128 and then Pro Tools stops linking with it. I have researched this problem on the forums and it seems many people are having this problem and some guys have built their own power supply, ensuring that USB power as well as power to the M audio unit are constant. But I am no electronics engineer. I have paid a lot for these Avid products and it was sold as a professional level system. Now it seems there are manufacturing defects and Avid is keeping quiet. Not fair. If I want support, it appears I have to buy it. Has anyone else encountered the same problem? Is there a fix? Pls help. |

Re: Pro Tools freezes DAE error 6001
Have you tried a different USB cable, or different port on the computer? Also have you checked your power saving settings for USB ports on your computer. Any interruption between PT and your interface will be unrecoverable.
