It is really important that we have as many votes as possible. In my opinion, it is the #1 most important feature on the Ideascale site. The fact that PT lacks the ability to disable software monitoring is an atrocity. Your support is appreciated.

I know I'm being a cynical jerk but I'm sure Avid knows about it. If they feel like it fits with how they're going to make money they'll do it. If not they won't.

I think Ideascale is a giant waste of time.

What's a waste of time is all the workarounds we have to do when doing overdubs and punches on a console - to keep the annoying latency out of the performers headphones.

Have you heard the expression, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease"? Yeah, Avid may know about this missing feature. But if enough people moan about it long enough, maybe they'll implement it. Let's face it, this request is not some crazy, scatterbrained idea. It's a basic feature that all DAWs have. In my opinion, it's a function as basic as a mute button.

But thanks for sharing your opinions with us, they are very helpful.

Sorry, but why is unlinking the record & playback faders not working if you pull down the rec fader to -oo?
One could set up a template for example...
