The REAL Tchad Blake SoundToys Decapitator presets

A couple of weeks I was fortunate enough to attend the Mix with the Masters seminar with Tchad Blake. Needless to say, it was an incredible experience.

Among the many, many things I learned was that the presets Tchad created for the SoundToys Decapitator plugin (one of his favorites) are not totally accurate, probably due to the fact that he was using a beta version to make them.

He kindly told us what was wrong, mostly that "auto-gain" should never be on and that some presets should not have "thump" enabled.

I have re-written the presets and are providing them here. I tried to find a free, unlimited hosting service so I hope this link will be good for a long time.

I use Pro Tools 10 and 11 on a Mac so I can attest that they work in this format. I don't know if they will work in Windows or in other DAWs. Maybe another member can convert them to other preset formats.

You're welcome! I learned a lot from tchad's template which was very involved. Lots of busses and auxes set up and ready to go as needed. He has plugins that he likes and he tends to use them over and over. Most of them are "vintage" as he's still using PT 8. Lots of parallel saturation. Sansamp, of course. He also has several plugins on his master buss, all doing just a little bit.

How do I get these to work? In Pro Tools 10.3.9.

Have dragged the folder into the Decapitator Folder in Plugin Presets, and while I get the folder, Decapitator thinks it's empty.

Also tried Import Settings from within Decapitator, but the settings are all showing as greyed out.

Can't speak for Windows, but for Mac, the correct folder is Root/Library/Application Support/SoundToys/Decapitator. You can reach this folder by choosing "Organize" through the SoundToys preset manager in the plugin.
