Mbox led light show - hardware not connected

Hi Guys

Im running a 27" iMac with Mountain Lion 10.8.2. When I connect my Gen 3 Mbox all I get is an LED light sequence. When I open the Mbox application all i get is a "hardware not connected" message in the lower left hand corner. The Mbox doesn't even show up in system preferences.

I've tried connecting the Mbox to another Macbook Pro and it works fine. And when I unplug the Mbox from the Macbook Pro and immediately connect it to my iMac it then works perfectly!

So I'm a little confused, its obviously an issue with my iMac.

Install(or RE-install) the latest Mbox driver?

I tried that. uninstalled then reinstalled the latest mbox driver. Still giving me the led light sequence....
