Plug-In Noise Issue with D-Show software 2.8.x
A small number of users of VENUE software version 2.8.x have reported an issue with plug-ins not passing audio properly. Avid is currently investigating this issue and a console software update will be posted once a fix has been confirmed.
What software versions and systems are affected? D-Show 2.8 (only available for SC48); D-Show 2.8.1 (all systems); D-Show 2.8.2 (FOH Rack and Mix Rack systems only). What’s the issue? Instantiating plug-ins in the Plug-ins Rack sometimes produces noise on the channels with plug-ins inserted, or causes audio to stop passing through the plug-in. This can happen, for example, when adding plug-ins to the Plug-ins Rack, when moving plug-ins between rack slots, or when loading a Show file. The issue is limited to system configurations using 0, 8 or 16 Graphic EQs (GEQs), and is most likely to occur immediately after modifying the configuration of the Plug-ins Rack (including loading a show file). There is little chance of encountering the issue during a show; however, it could arise when switching show files between bands (each with its own plug-ins rack), or during a rehearsal when the engineer is trying different plug-in configurations. What is the workaround? To avoid the issue altogether, simply set the number of GEQs in the system configuration to 24 (the maximum). Avoid using the 0, 8 or 16 GEQ options. The number of GEQs can be found on the System tab of the Options page (Options>System). Increasing the number of GEQs will reduce the number of DSPs available for plug-ins, by one DSP for every eight GEQs being added. If you do encounter the issue, it can often be resolved by re-instantiating the plug-in. This is done by turning the plug-in off and back on again, using the rectangular power switch located in the top left corner of each rack slot. Restarting the system may also resolve the issue. These operations will interrupt audio. As a preventative measure, the audio system should be muted when loading a show file, or when making changes to the contents of the Plug-ins Rack. If you encounter the issue Anyone encountering this issue should report the issue to the Avid Live Sound Support team. Customers around the world should always call the U.S.-based Hotline number (+1-650-731-6111) unless they are located in Europe, the Middle East or Africa, in which case there is a dedicated Hotline number for those regions (+44-1753-659-500). - The Avid Live Sound Support Team |

Re: Plug-In Noise Issue with D-Show software 2.8.x
Where is version 2.8.2 for the D-Show Venue FOH rack? I only see 2.8.1 or is it not available for the D-Show Venue?
Thanks |
