Kensington Expert Mouse with 6.9
A recent upgrade to 6.9 running on Mac OSX Panther has some compatibility issues with a Kensington Expert Mouse. The mouse software seems to work fine with other programs. Even after reinstalling and re-adding new settings to work with Pro Tools 6.9 [mouse click buttons], the software seems to revert back to default settings.
Anyone else have this issue or have any insight. I'm going to check with the Kensington people as well. Thanks Mg |

Re: Kensington Expert Mouse with 6.9
Issue is fixed.
You have to go into the Mouseworks program while Pro Tools is running and then select 'protools' from the drop down menu to setup up the mouse. Mg |

Re: Kensington Expert Mouse with 6.9
This worked for my, I set up the defaut with my Pro-Tools setting I like. That works great and even in Tiger 10,4.2 easy transition.

That did work for me on Tiger when I tried it before but on next reboot it didn't work again. Any other ideas?

Re: Kensington Expert Mouse with 6.9
You must throw away your old Kensington preferences, then use the defaot setting and change it to what you like, leave the name as default setting. I carry my track ball pro around with me from session to session with the instal software & preferences on a USB midi drive and instal it all the time and it work A+.

Re: Kensington Expert Mouse with 6.9
But if I set up the default as the Pro Tools shortcuts, it's all wrong when I open reason/melodyne/etc. It used to work program specific. Actually, it still does work program specific for Reason and Melodyne, Pro Tools is the only one that it can't remember.

Re: Kensington Expert Mouse with 6.9
Not sure if this will help, but mine is also working fine in 10.4.2.
I always rename the PT app in the Finder, to simply "Pro Tools", and then things like Quickeys & Mouseworks continues to work without having to port over the settings to a new app listing. |
