Default Working with Selections

Just a quick question ... is it possible for a selection to remain as is, while we move to other portions of the timeline and carry on editing?

E.g. I have selected a region and space around it @ 2 mins. of a session ... (2s pre and post) ... can I go to say 3 mins. of the same session and the selected region still exists?

Someone else will hopefully chime in here, but isn't this possible with Dynamic Transport? (See PT Preferences)

de-select "link timeline and edit selection".
(using dynamic transport also forces this off.)

Thanks! That helped. But this only works when you click on the timeline to make it move around the session ... not when you click anywhere else in the edit window itself.

Enter the 1st selection as a memory location selection. .
Zip around then go straight back to the 1st selection by entering the mem loc number.
