Default A Macbook, an MBox2 Mini and ever flowing '-6061' errors

Just bought an mbox2 mini for editing outside of my studio. I run an 002r normally. Can't make it for 30 seconds without getting a -6061 when editing/mixing audio from the internal drive (I know, I know...). This includes running a single imported mono track with 0 plugins and 0 edits.

I never get the 6061 error with the 002 - even when I record/mix on the internal OS drive instead of one of my external firewire drives. If I'm pushing it, I'll get an 'idiot, this is why we said use an external drive' error but if I'm pushing it, I use the external drive. :)

I'm using the front USB slot to connect the Mini. I have the power supply plugged into the Mac and nothing else.

I have firewire networking off, bluetooth and wifi as well. No sleep. Trashed my prefs.

My system:
OS 10.5.8
White MacBook
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
PT LE 8.0.1

start up items are digi stuff with a couple of parallels items

login items are:
ituneshelper
growl
xmenu
path finder
USB overdrive

no antivirus software

just want to say again that I have the exact same system setup (with more USB devices like my ilok, an external keyboard, midi controller...) when I hook up to my 002 and I never see this error - even when tracking to the system drive. I'm assuming this has something to do with USB bus speed/power but I dunno.

any help greatly appreciated.

Will

Uninstall USB Overdrive. Trash prefs and run Repair disk in Disk Utility. Reboot and give it a shot. Don't know what else it could be.
