Allen,
Is the A7V333-x the same board as teh A7v333-XL? When i go to bzboyz and look up a7v333-x it lists a7v333- XL boards and when I click on the board for details it provides details on the a7v333- X
Confusing

Hey butter lover (sheesh!)

I'd steer clear of Bzboyz. I ordered a mobo from them and paid a boatload of extra money for next day shipping and after 6 days sent them an email about what the problem was, they claimed that there is at least a 72 hour turnaround for processing orders and in the end, it took me a lot of emailing to finally get them to cancel the order. And they were really pretty snotty on the phone. Allan's right though, there are fewer and fewer places that are selling the A7V333-X boards. Also be careful because there are places selling A7V333 (without the X) mobos and they are NOT the same....although not sure if they would still work. Managed to find an A7V333-X from PCRapids for $83.70 they said they still have a few of them left so act quickly. I finally gave up trying to get the A7N8X mobo to work properly. Can't get two Hard drives and a CDR and DVDR to work at all with any stability. Sold the A7N8X for more than I paid for it by selling in the UK. Also got the new heatsink and panaflo fan. Hopefully, this will solve my problems. Planning on a complete reinstall of XP and then adding my new 002 unit. Probably won't upgrade to 6.1 until I get 5.3.2 working and performing the way it should.

Dang,
that's what i feared. I ordered the board 2 days ago from bzboyz and it hasn't shipped yet. i sent them an email yesterday asking if they are in-stock but haven't recieved a response yet. I have a feeling they are going to give me the shaft. Perhaps i should order from somewhere else...hmmm...going to ponder this over lunch...
I hate getting screwed....this way.

waouh here in France the ddr is so overpriced; 100€ (1€ = 1.07$ I think) for 512 Mo of noname, the corsair is at 160€ (2700, cas 2.0), and the micron 2100 is at 180€. Is it the same here in the usa?
The under 600$ machine cost me 720€, without burner and system hd (but with the silent box).

Question: are all the asus 333x motherboard 333 compatible? or does it need the bios to be updated? And is the 2500+ barton automatically 333 fsb ? If not, If I choose a 266 only, should I take 2100 ddr?
Thanks

What error do you get, exactly?

Have you tried removing or disabling all your unneeded peripherals, while running PT?

Markus,
The price has gone up to $98.00 at PCrapids for the A7v333-x.
I got a call from BZ-Boyz this afternoon (by the way that is a terrible name for a company) - they said what I feared, the board has become unavailable, so I ordered it from PCRapids. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm almost certain that there are no A7V333-X mobos made that aren't FSB333 ready. There was the older A7V333 that had two version and one only ran FSB266.

To everyone above, the A7V333-X and XL are similar boards, one just has onboard LAN which is the L.
The XL works great too.

I don't think there are any XP2500+ processors less than FSB333. You should be safe there.

Allen

UncleP,
For cooling I ordered the Arctic Silver NEW Premium High-Density Thermal Compound($5), SK-7 Heat Sink($21.99) and the 80mm Panflo L1A($8).

Not sure if I really needed the Arctic Silver but it was only 5 bucks so I wanted to have it handy just incase...anyone have any comments on this?
