Just installed 2021.3 here. In Control Panel/Programs and Features, it was the "Change" button to uninstall.

And I had to uninstall before the upgrade would proceed, which I haven't had to do in a long time.

"I tried manually uninstalling but the uninstall button was greyed out in the apps & features section of Windows."

To make this totally clear(because it can be confusing), you must dig one level deeper to reach where you CAN uninstall. Check the screen shot for the link in the red circle. Click that link and another window will come up. Give that window a minute to populate>scroll to Avid Pro Tools>right-click and select Change(likely the only option). In the next window, if there is an option to also uninstall the HD driver, DO check that option

I had just bought Final Cut this week so I decided to do a clean install of Big Sur and then reinstall all my plugins.

I had to upgrade the firmware to my HD Native card (then unplug the power to the chassis with the computer off).

All works 100%

For plugins I'm using the following with no issues:

UAD - All working
Soundtoys Bundle - All Working
Eventide Anthology
SSL (everything except the phase and vocal strip)
Waves Mercury and Abbey Road

I installed Komplete but haven't had the chance to check if it works yet.

The one thing that DOESN'T WORK is my MOTU Express 128. I just bought it about a year ago so that's not too good. Hopefully a new driver will be out soon.

I will say Big Sur seems very snappy and PT is working great.

[QUOTE=off the wall;2597364]I've got 2021.3 running fine on a 5.1 Mac Pro w/Mojave. It forced an HDX card firmware update which gave me false hope that maybe they were finally adding more voices for HDX - not so...

Yeah, HDX users are being ignored. Really pisses me off.

Hello, I'm running 2019 12.0 on Catalina. Should I upgrade directly to 2021?

So far running 2021.3 in High Sierra has been going good. No install issues. Deleted the Avid Link and the other useless Avid utilities. Besides the great news of it running on HS they've fixed the MIDI event list issues that I've had and that Avid support verified. Things like being able to delete multiple entries in the list whether contiguous or not, being able to use the del key on the computer to delete entries, etc. - fixed. Only took since PT2019.7 to get it fixed.

No reason not to; PT doesn't require intermediate versions to upgrade. This is assuming you have an active support/upgrades plan or subscription.

I reported earlier that my MID Express 128 wasn't working.

This got me up and running again.
