actually i was wrong, it's 138 samples..

He is using 64 buffer

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/show...1&postcount=21

so it's possible.

The thing that sucks is that tdm AT was something like 64 samples at 512 buffer.

I wrote Antares yesterday asking them to reconsider doing aax dsp

It seems that pt native performs better for recording thru AT than hdx.

well if you set native at 64 samples and use autotune live it will be 64 samples total.. so....

yeah, lower. TDM one was low at 512 cause buffer doesn't affect DSP plugins.

Blame Antares. Or buy an Apollo just for that.. a duo.. what else can i tell you.. get the new baby thunderbolt 3 apollo just to run one instance of autotune

The only thing worse than a Duo is a Solo and Arrow

Antares is a sketchy company. How long did it take them to approve and follow through with UAD for AT?

A long time, the answer is a long time.

arrow is fine just to run 1 autotune and nothing else. Antares may be sketchy (don't know) BUT that plugin is run byt he uad store and kept updated to be compatible by UAD.. that's how they do things.. when a UAD release happens for a new OS, all plugins are compatible.

Now, re Antares, just my 2c take. I was a beta tester for a while with them before i had a period of prolonged illness.. Not only were they not sketchy, but before i even joined the beta, i was getting answers to every single question i ever asked and had an amazing communication with Henrik Bridger.. For me they were one of the *least* shady companies ever.. you have no idea how much that guy helped me out.

I am still on AT7 but i will upgrade eventually to AT8 when there is an upgrade sale that they do sometimes.

I have no problem investing in antares. I also use avox4 suite and AT live.. no issues besides harmony engine in pro tools which i believe avid broke.. it works in my other daws perfectly.

The other day I met someone who works for a major software developer and asked him why their plug-ins weren't dsp. He told me that, apart from having to do loads of extra coding work to make them dsp, Avid took 50% of their revenue. He wasn't more specific than that, but can anyone enlighten me on this?

Possibly a connection here...........

That’s the problem - you can run nothing else.

These Plugs are so good you won’t want to run just one....

I see a lot of DUO’s for sale in the open market, everyone wants more DSP ( except maybe you )

I think a SOLO chip is in genuine and they should eliminate it from the market.

The DUO should be the intro device - obviously these are all and only opinions but a user none the less

Antares must have had doubts about releasing AT for UAD b/c it took an awful long time for them to deliver it

yeah I have 26 DSP.. still run out during mixing.

In this case though I am literally saying to load up console and use it dedicated for autotune for those that miss the aax dsp and have singers that erm..need it . It's still cheaper than the old hardware box was, or well, similar. Let me check single chip plug in instances, you have me curious now!

Probably just a general drop in price.....

I have also heard from OEM’s that say

there isn’t any money in it
You don’t need it for a modern computer
Good luck with your HDX card
It has to run native if it’s HDX
And yes too much coding for the $$ return

But in general look at plugin prices - $99 is a lot these days

Back when TDM ruled mercury was what $6000
