CPU Hardware Upgrade.
I'm looking to upgrade my processor to squeeze a few extra tracks/plug-ins into my mixes because lately i've started to feel limited by my cpu power at times. I'm running a Pentium 4 at 3.4GHz on an intel 915GUX mobo, I was considering simply upgrading to one of the lower end Pentium D processors like the Intel running at 2.8GHz because it would fit the LGA 775 socket ive already got. My main question was, do you think this will produce a noticeable enough performance gain to make it worth while? Also, i'm sure there are better mobos out there and was wondering if anyone had any luck with any specific proc/mobo combinations(and pls dont say AMD because id rather only upgrade one or the other). Any suggestions/comments are appreciated.
Thanks, Cory |

Re: CPU Hardware Upgrade.
I think it would make a difference as long as you are running PT7. I don't think any other version will take advantage of dual processors, but I could be mistaken.
