But unless you need more firewire, DVD or internet support, I'd suggest you stay at 9.04. I really don't believe there are any significant changes in respect to PT. In fact, if I could find a copy of 9.04 still available, I'd go back to it myself. |

Re: Upgrading for 9.04 to 9.2 issues
I suggest you upgrade to 9.1 and wait for 9.2. I know of somebody who had problems using Adaptec SCSI cards under 9.2 which were working fine in 9.1. I did move up to 9.1 from 9.0.4 and found that PT was more stable, particularly in situations where you're also running other software (Native Instruments, Quicktime, etc.)

Re: Upgrading for 9.04 to 9.2 issues
I personally only upgrade the OS when there's a reason to do so. In my case there was: Firewire. But 9.2.2 is a good one. The only thing that broke on my system is that I have to start my calendar before Word 5.1 if I don't want the calendar's fonts to disappear.
That's it, so I wouldn't be afraid to do it. 9.1 was fine too, except for Firewire. |

Re: Upgrading for 9.04 to 9.2 issues
well, i did upgraded my g4/450 from 9.0.4 to 9.1 about six months ago. i am running pt5.1.3 now without any problem concerning about the os upgrade. i am using os 9.2.2 firewire extensions with dam firewire driver and i am getting an awesome performance from my firewire hd.
i would say you are pretty safe if you go from 9.0.4 to 9.1 on a g4/450. |

Re: Upgrading for 9.04 to 9.2 issues
Hmmm, thanks guys; I'll probably just stick w/ 9.04 then. My system is very stable and I don't need the potential headache. The only thing I have problems with is Toast Titanium and not being able to do the background burns w/out getting errors. the newest version Toast (which is supposed to fix that problem) won't run under 9.04.
