API A2D, please report

I'd like to hear from anyone out there willing to offer some advice with the API A2D

I posted a question about the A2D on another thread but thought it might deserve its own



Anyway, I've got GAS bad and am about to plunge into the A2D, I can also slave another peice of outboard off the A2D's (single) insert - works for me as I'm also getting the 5500 and 2500


My BIG question is this;

Direct input into the A2D - with a EQ hanging off it - then signal gets converted from Audio to Digital, then into PTLE 003R - can I then apply another outboard compressor during mix?

Maybe hang the Comp off the 003R's Aux? Will this compromise signal at all - or is this not the most efficient way?


Can replyers please recomend a good chain with EQ and Comp using the A2D as input......




And no, don't want soft eq and comps thanks anyway
