Default EQIII + other Digidesign plug-ins stopped working!

Hi,

EQIII, De-Esser Dyn 3, Reverb One and Revibe do not work anymore on my system, either TDM or RTAS. When inserted on a track, the output meter goes up full scale, and no signal except random digital distortion comes thru. Bypass does nothing.

The reverb plugs generate nasty eerie sreeching noise. All other Digi and third party plugs work fine.

I have downloaded and installed latest versions (from the plug-in list page). My setup is Mac Pro 2,66 Quad, 10.4.8, HD3 Accel, PT 7.3.1cs1.

Strange thing is that these plugs worked fine a couple of weeks ago. Now I remember that I installed some Security Update some time ago...could it be that?

Please help me!

I donīt think itīs the security update.
Have you tried trashing the dae prefs, the digisetup, the protools preferences and the database folders?

I would recommend taking all the Plugs that make problems out of the PlugIn Folder, check, and then put in one by one until you find the one that may be corrupted, and then download this one from digidesign fresh.

Good Luck,

Martin

Yeah, Iīll try to do that.

It just feels strange - Iīve been running PT TDM from version 4.xx up, and havenīt ever experienced any problems with Digidesign bread and butter plug-ins. But I guess times change!

It looks like Guitar Rig 2.2.0 was causing this Digi plug-in corruption.

Guitar Rig 2 is the devil. Spawn. Ruiner of Systems.

Seriously, can you tell I hold a grudge??? All I have to do is have it NEAR my PT HD3 system and it goes bonkers. I've never had a session that hasn't been crashed by GR2. Ever. I had to uninstall it. Completely. It's a shame, as its a neat plug. But...

For what its worth, I actually ponied up for Amplitube 2 because of the GR nightmare. It's not as cool but it at least works.

Guitar Rig 2... at least on my system... was the biggest waster of time (in terms of crashes) I've ever seen. By tenfold.

Sorry if I've hijacked. It's just that that plug has made my life hell.

Anyway, back to our normal Sunday night family viewing...

Yeah, itīs a pity. On my other system (G5 & PT HD3 7.1.1) it worked fine after the GR update last autumn (and still does), while I used to have problems with Amplitube 2 on the same machine. Now itīs all uspide down on my Mac Pro: Amplitube goes like a breeze...

I btw reported this bug to NI and they said itīs not a "known problem".
