Default Re: Retire the duc and start a Discord or slack

Oh god please no. Discord and Slack have no permanence and no reference utility. If I have a question about, say, low latency monitoring, i can search the DUC and find many discussions about it.

On Discord, I have to ask again, and someone has to answer again. Then two days later, the same discussion.

On DUC, I can scroll through the last few topics to see what might be interesting, or what i can help with. On Discord, I miss something, it's essentially gone, and I won't be chiming in to help, nor able to learn myself.

Wrong tools for the job. A user support forum requires persistence, search, and the ability to separate topics.

It's been working for me for years. When I was a newbie I would read it for hours to get valuable info. It's my favorite forum. has been for years

I agree, it’s a source of invaluable information.
Has been for years.
My legacy adventures started with:
Pro Tools III NuBus,
Pro Tools III PCI,
Pro Tools Mix 24,
And now Pro Tools HD Accel.
All of which would have been almost impossible if it weren’t for the DUC.

Worth mentioning, the DUC dinosaur has been proudly ad-free since 1998.
