Pro Tools 12 won't start, error message about PaceException and Database commit
Hi,
Started to install Pro Tools 12 last weekend, can't get it to run. Might be it wasn't such a good idea to try installing when the iLok system was down for maintainance... PT 10 runs fine. But the iLok manager gives error messages about database commit error, and the same with Pro Tools 12 when I try to start it. Looks like there is some problem with the installation of the subscription system for PT 12, or the Pace supprt drivers (they won't install) and that somehow something has gone really wrong... Where's that database that won't commit? Local or on the iLok servers? Tried deinstalling and reinstalling the iLok Manager, and also tried to reinstall PT 12 (come to think of it, without deinstalling first), and I have also been in contact with iLok support, and tried the things they asked me to try, without it working. Last thing there is I sent them all log files and windows information and such, and I guess they will be analyzing those files next week and come back to me. Just thought, well, there might be someone that knows how to fix this, from personal experience... I'm also attaching a partial screenshot of the error message (it is long, and non-text, and non-scrollable...) Best, Njal |

I would uninstall PACE completely and download it fresh.

Re: Pro Tools 12 won't start, error message about PaceException and Database commit
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your suggestion, I've tried it already, didn't work. Tomorrow I'll try completely deinstall PT12 and iLok manager, and then installing PT 12, perhaps that will do it (suggested by Avid support). NF |

There is a joke somewhere here about that database and it's inability to commit, but I can't think of good punchline yet... NF |
