Default Creating an AAF or OMF in Pro Tools for Avid Editor

I have a couple of questions about creating an AAF/OMF in Protools.
1. will omf maintain all my routing/bussing
2. Will that routing translate into AVID
3. Is there a size limit (my session is rather larger, over 4gigs)
4. What is the max handle size

I could be wrong but I think it's a one way street. You can't import OMF / AAF in FCP and Avid, only export.

1. NO
2. NO
3. 2 GB is the limit for embedded media. You can use referenced media to overcome this limit or split tracks to multiple sequences.
4. Only need handles with embedded, not sure about the limit when exporting from Pro Tools.

Avid can import OMF/AAF, but they are limited in track count, so something to consider if it is a large session in terms of tracks.

There is also the issue of them only being able to edit audio on frame boundaries, which means any edits you do will get moved to the nearest frame boundary.

You have to check the box that says "Enforce Avid Compatibility" to make sure you edits are on the frame, if not, I believe the avid will throw errors when opening the sequence, but it has been a few years since I sent something that way (usually the AAFs come to me)

simultaneous playback is limited to 16, the total number of audio tracks is 24, I believe, although I'm not absolutely certain, I am one version behind.

Thanks for the quick replies. I figured the bussing wouldn't translate to AVID but I guy can dream can't he. Post "lock" and delivery, a show needs to be opened and re-edited. I was hoping I could just give my mix via omf cut out the reconform process. It is obliviously a pipe dream without Virtual Katy...
