Is Digidesign comming out with a New Command 8??

There's a reason that they purchase Euphonix---because they don't have a new product on the table at this point. I really like the Artist series stuff, I'm looking into (1) MC CONTROL with (4) MC MIX to replace my Control24. Want to buy a used Control24 w/Argosy desk for real cheap?? LOL

The Control24 and C24 are ProTools only. After learning that Euphonix was buying Avid----errrr the other way around.... well I just purchased the following (sorry, the Control24 is sold and gone):

(1) MC CONTROL V2
(3) MC MIX
(1) MC TRANSPORT

for the use of ProToolsHD. EuCon will be implemented into ProTools instead of having to use HUI. So is there a new Command8 coming? Well maybe....and maybe not. I've been working on a design I'm trying to get them to build, but with the acquisition of Euphonix---it might throw things into the mix a little. However, I think there is still a market for a higher-end model that is modular that is cheaper than the C24. I will say this though----the Euphonix Artist is a very powerful system that will only get better, much better----but it is deceiving. Why do I say that? Well by itself, it looks like a little box with faders and knobs---but sunk into a nice desk, it looks cool and feels pro. Wait until you see what I'm installing this thing into---- well look here:

I would be suprised to see a new Command8 after the Euphonix purchase.

The exception would be it was already engineered, tooled up and ready to go.

I second that! I love my Command 8, and have a small desk area, so 24 is too many, 16 would be perfect

I would really like an in-between controller as well. Some plug-in control, some monitor section (not analog, but PTs, like VMon), automation switches, surround . . .
