For me and my colleagues, a huge question is how efficient Revibe AAX will be.

EQ and Compressors can be run native on audio tracks with no voice penalty, but reverbs, 5.1 bus limiters, surround mixers, delay compensation and other back end processing would generally be run on the HDX card. Those are the things that I'd like to see some efficiency reports about, ie how many instances per chip for the plugins?

I saw at the AES Revibe II was eating 58% of one processor on the HDX card.

I assume that means one instance per chip? How many chips on a card?

Yeah, I was concerned about that on another thread, where Soundworx posted a link to a picture of the system usage http://www.gearslutz.com/board/attac...1.46.27-pm.png

There are 18 chips on a card - all the same speed and memory.

Yikes! My feature template for HD6 has something like 24 instances of Revibe and 12 5.1 bus limiters for all the FX food groups. I hope they can get Revibe a lot more efficient than one instance per chip or that would definitely be a problem.

This can't be right, look at D-Verb eating something over 40% of a chip, this simply cant be right can it?

Perhaps D-Verb's super good on HDX?! I don't know the source of that picture, it's very third hand, we'll find out for certain in a few weeks.

Well, on the bright side it looks like 3 instances of Reverb One take up 52% of one chip (it's a little blurry, but that's what it looks like to me). That means 5 instances per chip, maybe 6 with a little better optimization. That seems pretty workable. It's a bit odd though, since for TDM I prefer Revibe because it uses up a lot less DSP than Reverb One.

I am wondering how many chips will be eating by ativerb in 5.1.
