One of the dealers put me in direct contact with an Avid rep, and they won't call me back either.

Can anybody recommend a good dealer? I would prefer to use an independent local business in Austin if possible. I will not use Guitar Center.
The guys at Vintage King are the only people I deal with.

My past experience with Sweetwater, is incessant cold calls from a 200.00 purchase 8 years ago, so Id avoid them like the plague.

VK are experienced users, there when you need them, and they have great pricing.

I had a similar experience with Sweetwater, but I think it depends on the rep you deal with.

It was kind of creepy.

I ended up buying my rig and several great preamps from Marquette Audio Labs, and got a tremendous deal.
I was getting some input and asking questions about upgrading to HD at the time on the message boards at Gearslutz and The Womb,
and posted about my happy experience working with Marquette. I got a disturbing phone call from the Sweetwater rep the next day.
He said he read my posts and tried to make me feel guilty for not buying from him. I have no idea how he figured out that I was the one
posting at those forums.

Creepy.

But like I said, I don't think all of their reps are like that. If they were, they probably would have
gone out of business a long time ago. I actually see more comments around here that are positive about Sweetwater,
and not many negative ones.
