Default HDX dealer recommendation?

So I'm trying to upgrade my HD2 Accel to HDX. My dealer for the past 11 years seems to have gone under. I have tried 2 other dealers in Austin TX and have tried Sweetwater, but I can't get a response from anyone despite repeated calls and emails. One of the dealers put me in direct contact with an Avid rep, and they won't call me back either.

Can anybody recommend a good dealer? I would prefer to use an independent local business in Austin if possible. I will not use Guitar Center.

While similar in name and technically part of the same company, I have found the mentality of GC Pro to be COMPLETELY different than "reg" GC. It's been my experience that they understand their goal is to take care of professionals.

You might try there.

Hi,

It might be a bit early for all the dealers to give a precise answer or delivery time. the product isn't out yet! All sitting in storage waiting for the mass frenzy of orders.

I've had nothing but great experience with Sweetwater. They are very attentive to getting answers and actually have an Avid rep who works in house. It's my understanding that they are accepting pre-orders for HDX right now.

I like Sweetwater, too. I also like IMSproav.com. They're in New York. Really cool guys.

Jon, no doubt, would buy from him, or Vintage King. Sweetwater will over charge you, period. No matter how good of a deal you get with them, you will certainly get a better one with the two above.

Now, Do not trade in your PCIe cards, sell them privately and buy a used PCI card, do a transfer of ownership, and use that card to upgrade with. You'll save a boat load with that.

There is also Brad Lyons at Atlanta GC Pro department, he was formally with Sweetwater, another good source.

I've been watching, HDX has not caused the PCIe cards to reduce at going used prices. So that means at this point, not a lot of folks are rushing in to go HDX.
