Any old-timers recognize this card?
I got it in a batch of older gear, including a G5, HD 3 a Control 24 and some other stuff. I'm guessing it might be from the early TDM days as the package also has books for Pro Tools 6.2 TDM. Let me know if anyone can say what it is, or if anyone wants it(certain I won't be using it). It does have an Avid silkscreen on the end of the card.
BTW, the "old-timers" refers to those with lots of experience, not lots of age

Re: Any old-timers recognize this card?
Hmmm, it does seem to fit with a SCSI cable I have on hand. I didn't know that Avid ever made a SCSI card. I also did get another ATTO SCSI card with this same batch of older hardware. If anyone wants one, PM me. They will be cheap

Re: Any old-timers recognize this card?
The first generation of Digidesign cards in the early '90s needed to run the media drive using the card's DSP chip because Macs at that time weren't fast enough. I ran an SE-30 back then so I never used the NuBus cards used in the Mac IIs. Digidesign was the first to use standard format hard drives that could be moved to any Mac computer and backed up. That combined with the invention of the plug-in and the fact that nothing significantly better came along is why Pro Tools became our industry standard DAW.
