Mikkel, so you're saying that reinstalling the Structure Plug-In didn't fix your drag and drop problem?

By the way, 7.3 isn't necessary to run Structure, however, if you were wanting to take advantage of Disk Prioritization for example, then 7.3 or higher is needed.

Drag and drop is such a core integrated function that it should work with any Pro Tools 7.x system.

Mikkel, could you give us your system details and how you've gone about performing this function and how you've tried to troubleshoot it ...maybe DigiTechSupt can chime in.

Hi Filosofem and thanks as always

I havent tried to reinstall the software yet. I will give it a try in the next few days, when Im in the studio again.

I have tried to drag samples into every possible place in the Structure window, also in the Edit window. Nothing happens.

Again, I will try to reinstall!

My system details are:

ProTools HD2 Accel 7.1.cs3
Mac G5 dual 1.8 PPC
OSX 10.4

Are you dragging normal regions or are you trying to drag/drop a region group? It will only work on normal regions.

Tried to reinstall, and I still cant do this.
If anyone with the same problem knows a way to troubleshoot this, I would be very happy to know! Digi Tech support....????

Where are you dragging dropping regions from; Pro Tools edit page, region list, browser or fiinder? Not in front of system now but I believe this only works when dragging/dropping from an existing audio track on the edit page. You should then just drag it into the patch list (left hand side of Sturcture)

Hello,

I'm having this same issue.
Just got structure and thought was doing something wrong.
Checked the video.
Yup that's what I was doing.
Asked my friend next door and yup, that's how to do it.

It will create the part, with the name of the file I just dragged in,
but the "comment" window says:
"Sample Parts contain no Samples, please add them in the editor"

I went into the editor and tried the same thing with no luck.


I had previously installed the beta.
Then installed the demo.
then I bought it.

Would that have anything to do with it?

So I trashed the Structure prefs.
REinstalled and that didn't seem to do anything.

Repaired Disk Permission.
That didn't seem to do it either.

After giving it a good old restart. then it seems to work better.
Oh yeah, I also cleared out a bit of room on my internal drive.
It was down to 5 gigs.

So, after deleteing the DAE Preferences and repairing Disk Permissions, then rebooting, you're now able to drag & drop?

What puzzles me is the lack of Digi's intervention concerning this matter. What have we got, three or four users having drag & drop issues, thus far ...and not a single word?
