Default Pro Tools and Win7 64 Bits

Hi all,

I've just purchased a new cpu:

GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD3
Intel Core i7 3820 (3.60GHZ) SKT 2011
Corsair Kit 8 Gb DDR3 1600 Mhz (CL9-X79)
WD 1 Tb Sata III 64 Mb (rercording)
Seagate 500 Gb Sata III 16 Mb (system)
750 Gb used drive ( samples)
Thermalright True Spirit 140
Asus Nvidia Geforce GT610
LC-Power 600W Silent Giant Green v2.3

Now all is missing is me installing and running PT...

Can anyone help me during the proper installation procedure and settings since i'm aware of several issues regarding Pro Tools and Win7 64 Bits...Also what plug's can i safely install and third party soft's ( Kontakt, Stylus, Omnisphere, Superior Drummer,etc...)

I do thank you in advance for any comments and/or advices...

Lemec

What version of Pro Tools are you going to install? Anything below 9 requires an audio interface. Just install the disk and when it ask for your interface just plug it into the usb. It will update the drivers for you. You can install third plugins too, if they are Rtas.

Thank you Creation25 for the quick and helpful answer...

I've been using until now PT 8.0.4 and i do own a MBox2...

I mainly do tracking, mixing and mastering...as i do also some composition work for soundtracks...

Isn't it true that PT still only work at 32 bit ? And that one must run PT 32 bit under Win7 64 bit with all the issues that it might cause ?

Also i would be most thankful if you could guide me through some Win settings that might help PT and me to run smooth ...

You'll have to excuse my newbie side...
