I was using a digi002 with 2020 on windows 10 up until a while ago..
You need to install the legacy FireWire driver though.. I've a post somewhere here on how to do it..

Unsupported/discontinued doesn’t mean not working.

I just set up a friend’s iMac with 10.13.6 and PT2020.12 with his 003R. Works perfectly. Technically, the 003 is unsupported on that Mac OS. I think 10.12 is the last version, but I’d have to double check. Regardless, it works fine.

I tried a 003 for a colleague on 10.14 on a 2018 Mac Mini and that was a no go.

The 003 is Firewire 400 only isn't it? That'll have to go into the equation.

As alluded to in other posts - need more information on your computer.

There won't be an issue with running the 003 with PT2020, as long as there are drivers for the OS you're using.

That’s not an issue.

FW400-FW800 cable works fine. If the machine is TB only, add the required adapter/s.

Again, the version of Mac OS installed is the main issue.
