When "CPU usage fix" will be ready?

I had recently a major crash&bang and my old trusty computer needs to be replaced

I'll be installing everything from scratch, and because I had some problems with PT8 considering CPU usage, I think of downgrading to 7.4 for a while... And thats why I'm asking - when promised fix will be available?
