Realistic Potential 4 G3
Hello all,
I'm interested in getting an M-Box but I was curious to know if I would be able to do any kind of real work with my iBook G3 600mhz processor. I'm willing to fill it up with RAM and purchase an external firewire HD but would I be wasting my time? How realistic is it to think I can record and mix tracks with the machine I have? Also would I still be able to use my iBook for other tasks such as internet browsing or is that not recommended? Thanks. |

Re: Realistic Potential 4 G3
You could prob do small projects in the area of maybe 16 tracks, if you are using all audio as opposed to midi. I don't know much about the midi world so I am no help there.
I had a G3- 450 tower and had to process with audio suite on all eq and comp, then I could use about 2 reverbs. It was cabable of 4 piece rock band songs or equivelent. I would use RTAS eq and comp only, get a good mix then use audiosuite to apply effects. Then I would add reverb and other effects. It was kind of a pain but not really, you can do some good stuff for sure.
