simultaneous spdif optical

Sorry for my ignorance but is there any way that I can connect a a/d converter via spdif optical AND another device (for example a digimax) via spdif optical also or do I have to settle for rca?
Additionally, is anyone using 2 different mic pres for stereo recording?

Sorry, but you can't use the S/PDIF optical and RCA simultaneously. It's either / or with the Digi 002 / 001.

You CAN get outboard boxes that will accept several S/PDIF ins and mix them together, then take a single S/PDIF out and feed that into the DIgi 001 / 002. Roland just announced such a beast... but I'd imagine it's going to cost at least what the Digi 001 does. [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img]

I have seen optical patch bays- you may be able to find an optical splitter, too- but that's what you'd need to send your one optical S/PDIF to two separate destinations out of the 001.
