Bug when trying to Save
Hey guys I posted this before but it was never really resolved.
Since I upgraded to Pro Tools 9, I frequently (but not necessarily consistently) get an error when using the Ctrl+S command to save my session. I forget precisely what the error is, but it is something to the effect of that it can't save over the current session. I hit ok, and when I again hit Ctrl+S it brings up the Save As prompt... so I basically have to rename it and save it as a separate session file. This happens sometimes 5 or 6 times during the course of an hour which, while not threatening to the session in any way, is obviously extremely annoying and adds unnecessary clutter. This is a problem only in Windows as far as I can tell, as I haven't encountered it on my Snow Leopard machine. Has anyone else run into this issue? I have reinstalled Windows and Pro Tools and the same thing happens, by the way. |

Re: Bug when trying to Save
I haven't seen this here. Does this happen with the dropdown menu also?

Re: Bug when trying to Save
Alright it happened again. I checked if it happened with the dropdown menu and the same thing occurs. Here's the error it gives me:
Could not save as "Property Line" because Cannot create a file when that file already exists. (183) f:\Recording Sessions\Personal Sessions\Property Line\dofhsopdhfso\sfopshjdifo -> f:\Recording Sessions\Personal Sessions\Property Line\Property Line.ptf. where the random letters in there are not the exact ones but they are random in the actual message. I'm surprised that I seem to be the only one having this issue. |

Re: Bug when trying to Save
"Run As" Pro Tools as Administrator?
Maybe check the security on the folder in Windows. Windows inherits security from parent folder and sometimes goes a bit wobbly. Mike.
