Default The Current Playback engine does not support a sample rate of 48 kHz

Hi,

I am trying to open older Pro Tools sessions on PT 12.7.0 on a Windows 11 machine and Digi 003. I keep getting "The Current Playback engine does not support a sample rate of 48 kHz" error.

I've searched the web and the forums and I cannot find the reason why.

I've tried to set up a new session at 48 thinking I may be able to just import them, but it will not let me set it at 48.

I've gone to setup / playback engine and my only options are Windows Audio device and Digidesign FW003.

Will PT 12 not load previous sessions or is it possibly a limitation of the Digi 003?

Thank you for any help.

Thank you.

For anyone experiencing this 48kHz error I just found the fix.

The problem is that you need to be sure that in Windows the Digi 003 is not the default audio device.

If you change the windows default audio device to the sound card on your system you will be able to enable 48kHz and then you can load the earlier Pro Tools sessions.

Good detective work. This is well-known that all Windows systems USUALLY need this(there are a few exceptions, but the 003 is not one of them)
