try cutting 180+ bpm drums to the 32nd note on a 4 or 5 system, you'll learn the horror of the Fades Folder

what BadJitter said really confuses me. Do real time fades take up more voices.each and every single time a real time fade is used. What things take up voices. Each track is a voice right. Is each plugin on every track a new voice. Even if the same plug in is used on multiple tracks. So if I have 24 stereo tracks running 24 stereo plugs. (all the same plugs) thats 48 voices for the tracks plus 24 voices for the plugins.

I recommend that you test this for yourself. You can see voice usage in the System usage box, unless they removed it in v9/10. Also, check the Reference guide; page 991 seems like a good place to start.

Fades do not use additional voices.
